March 30, 2020 – The Rakuten Group has proactively engaged in the development of the Linux System and other Open Source Software (OSS) technologies. One example of this is its fully virtualized cloud native mobile network built by Rakuten Mobile which began operations in October 2019. As such, Rakuten has joined Open Invention Network’s patent non-aggression community focused on Linux and adjacent OSS.
