Sustainable Open Source projects — including making AWS a trusted, scalable home for cloud-native workloads & building up the broader Kubernetes community— require adequate resources to maintain healthy code & communities. To that end, AWS has made large investments in financial & organizational Open Source initiatives. Last year, it invested $10 million into the Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) & committed its entire patent portfolio to Open Invention Network “to reduce the risk of companies that innovate with Open Source.”
