September 9, 2010 – Mozilla is dedicated to keeping the Internet open and accessible to all. Therefore, it is unsurprising Mozilla has joined our community to reflect its long-standing commitment to open source software and support for the Linux platform.

In an entry on the official Mozilla blog, Vice President and General Counsel Harvey Anderson says Mozilla intends to collaborate with OIN to explore new ways of protecting open source software.

A global provider of web browsers, apps, code and tools, the Mozilla project was created in 1998 with the release of the Netscape browser suite source code. Mozilla 1.0 was the first major version released in 2002, followed by Firefox 1.0 in 2004. Now, users of Web VR can share Virtual Reality (VR) experiences on the web, as well as interactive games. The company is working to create an open, Web of Things framework of software and services to bridge the communication gap between connected devices.
