Meituan-Dianping is a Chinese group buying website which offers local food delivery, consumer products, retail services and deals of the day by selling vouchers for area services and entertainment (similar to Groupon in the United States). Its local life service platform connects over 240 million consumers and 5 million local merchants and 35 million people daily. Approximately 70 million users’ access Meituan-Dianping’s travel life service platform. The on-line to off-line retailer went public on the Hong Kong stock exchange in 2016.
Founded in 2010 by Wang Xing, the company is headquartered in Beijing, China, and merged with Dianping to hosts consumer reviews of restaurants (similar to Yelp and Trip Advisor). Meituan-Dianping partners with over 400,000 Chinese local businesses.
