When the tech giant joined Open Invention Network in 2018, the news made international headlines. The company has also developed upgrades to its Xbox Cloud Gaming for Linux & ChromeOS, financially supports Free & Open Source Software (FOSS) projects like GNOME — an Open Source desktop environment for Linux  — and supports its Edge web browser on Linux.
