Yamaha Corporation’s 136-year history is rich with milestones that touch lives throughout the world with the gift of music. Its roots began when the founder, Torakusu Yamaha, repaired a broken reed organ in 1887. Throughout the 1900s, the company began manufacturing upright pianos, grand pianos, electronic organs, HiFi audio players & wind instruments. The 1960s brought about such innovations as acoustic & electric guitars, trumpets, drums & horns. Flutes, clarinets, mixers, speakers & amplifiers followed.
