\"Red Hat has released the Fedora Directory Server and will open its source code under the GPL license in the near future. The server includes the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), which allows standardized access to directory information, such as network addresses, user IDs with access and authentication data. Red Hat bought this software from AOL last year as part of a 20.5 million dollar purchase of Netscape Enterprise technologies. The Fedora Directory Server is compatible with Fedora Core 3, Solaris 2.8 and 2.9, and Windows 2000 and can be downloaded from the Fedora Project web site.\"
